It's a very nice hotel. the grounds are lovely. I am sure you will enjoy your stay there.
It is not on the water of course so there is no beach there.
It is actually located on the Simpson Bay Lagoon. They have a huge marina there.
and the casino there is fabulous!

We stayed at PDP last year (after renting at Cupecoy Beach Club for 16 years).

Barbara was right on with her description. For our own personal tastes, here are the PLUSES+ and the MINUSES- :

PLUSES:
* Very nice accomodations. Staff & Housekeeping were extremely nice smiling smiley

* Great Security. There are at least 10 Security Guards on premesis every day
& night. One of the few resorts we've seen with a Security Dog (Shepard)

* Classy Casino. We guess they all are the same when they take YOUR $; but the
PDP Casino is elegant and has frequent but sometimes "hokey" entertainment.

* Great Island Location. You are not very far from the Dutch or the French
side. Traffic is Horrendous at times all over the Island, but PDP is in a
nice central location.

* Outside Entertainment. They have a circular area outside the Casino, which
has frequent outdoor shows & concerts. Don't expect Shaggy or Marley Jr.,
but the shows we've seen were nice.

* Outstanding Pool and Landscaping. We're not particularly "pool-people", but
the pool & deck bars were very relaxing at the times you wish to just "veg out"
The landscaping was done by a real artist.

* Elegant (but pricey) Restaraunts. 2-3 different ones depending on the time of
year.

* Golf Cart Service. A Security person with a golf cart will drive you anywhere
on the property. $1 tip is the norm, but $5 or more seems best when they help
with lots of groceries or luggage.....

* Mega-Yacht Show is in December, but at any time of the year, some of the
largest, most elegant, and super appointed boats are at the PDP Marina.

MINUSES:
* Rooms & Suites are located on a small island within the PDP property. It
is a fairly lengthy walk (over a small bridge) to get back to your room/suite.
You can always ask for golf cart service (explained above).

* No Beach. There is a small man-made sandy area with a bar-b-q pit and some
watersports. You have to drive to all the beaches.

As you can see, there are not many negatives for our tastes. We found PDP a
great place to stay. We'll answer any other questions via e-mail....
