Thank God for the rollling systems! We use them all the time, just about. I feel like I am in a cave when they are down--But we enjoy opening them each day to see the beautiful water, sunshine and boats in the baie. We are just used to it now. Whenever we leave the condo we close them. When we retire for the night, we close them. Too Bad, but it has become a way of life now.

I am so glad that St. Martin is acknowledging the problem and trying to curb violent crime, illegals, and such. I did read in the daily herald about working with young people to keep them out of trouble. That is excellent. Help the kids so they do not turn to crime. I would be happy to come across these guys anyday!

Thanks, Leslie. I guess that will do away with any nearby parking by the Taxi Association building. It should help traffic at that corner--always seems to back up right there.

I heard they are building a rotary at the corner by the cemeterie in Marigot. Can anyone verify this? Is project finished? Has anyone driven through it? Any associated traffic problems? Thanks

I don't think the ferrys run very late. If you want to go for supper, it might be best to book a room for the night. There are some smaller places to stay that might be reasonable.

Remember the phone calls, frantic, trying to track everyone down and make sure they were safe. Some decided not to go to work that day, some made it out safe, and some did not. I still get that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach when I see the images or even think back on that dreadful day.

I find the prices somewhat comparable to US. Maybe a tad higher for groceries, etc. Grande Marche carries a lot of US brands. And they do carry bargain brands, too.

What a shame. I went to a party there once back in the 80's. What a beautiful setting! Hopefully, that beauty and historical significance can be maintained.

Years ago, we waited day after day for our rental car to be delivered. It showed up the day before we left! We ended up renting a scooter for a day and rode the entire island, looking for the rental place. All we got was sunburned! Rental cars at the airport is one GOOD change!

Maho is a good area for nightlife. Sunset Beach Bar (topless ladies drink for FREE) Bliss Nightclub--goes until very late Pick up a copy of "K-PASA" when you arrive at airport. It will list all the party nights at different venues for the week.

You can buy the beans for the goumet coffee at Grande Marche & US Imports. Now, all you need is a grinder!

Well, wouldn't it be good to have it where you can see a "Sunset" ? ? ? ? Cliffhanger would be a cool spot! Pinel would be good, but I bet it would be difficult to get it over there. It will be interesting to see how this one unfolds.

Awful expensive for the novelty. It must be gorgeous to enter Anse Marcel from the water! But, after a long flight, I just want to GET THERE! It will be interesting to see how popular this option will be.

My favorite is the cheese with the black covering. It comes in big rounds. It's like a creamy harvarti. Yummm...so good... I also like the brie and camembert. Match has a wonderful cheese dept. and the ladies are very helpful with choices. I love US Imports too! Great Cheese dept. Now, where's that baguette!!!????

Harry, Trip Advisor has a list and reviews of hotels in St. Martin(with prices) There is a small one in Marigot, Le Centre, I think. So not fancy, but reviewer said it was cheap and clean. Hotel Beach Plaza is reasonable, but the street side can be noisy. Happy Researching.

Yes, La Vie en Rose would be the best choice! But, also La Bistro de la Mer, Awowak, or even Mini Club! Ah, I wish I could be there! I wouldn't miss it!!!

Keep a "church-key" in your cooler for opening beers on the beach. If going to Pinel--try to get the 1st ferry-10:00 am Be polite and greet shopkeepers, anyone with a hello/bonjour before your inquiry.
