You are so right, Philippe. I cry today when I think of how Marigot used to be. Perhaps they are thinking of David's Restaurant?

I have some old pictures somewhere...must find them. I remember the floating barge bar in Marigot by the cemeterie, the Calabash bar in Maho, Beef Wellington at David's. I remember when Marigot beach was wide and sandy and very crowded on weekends. Long beach was empty most of the time. Cupecoy was also wide and beautiful. Dining at the Concord in suits, ties and fancy dresses. It was a

I watch all the boards and this one is the one I get the most definitive answers from. Yes, it's quiet sometimes, but there are other boards that give the information I need to see. I love the back in the day photos ! I enjoy this board and the people on it.

Clem, Our's is the tankless type also. But it seems they burn out on a regular basis. We keep a back up in the condo just in case. We have been getting them in the US. Where did you buy yours? Thank you.

We have a small condo on the French side. It seems we are replacing our small water heaters on a yearly basis. The building is old and I am sure the pipes are in bad shape. We are only there in high season. Is there anything we can do to lengthen the life of these water heaters? My plumber at home says they should be cleaned yearly to remove the gunk and build up. We took one apart and could

We were there years ago and they had Fireworks off maho beach. Don't know if they still do that. It was very crowded. I am sure the many restaurants & clubs over there will be planning special events.

Thank you Philippe. I gave them the email for Captain Olivers. They are a group of 15 or more from Brazil. Not all single. They specifically want to go to Captain Olivers. I am sure they will have a delightful time.

Hello, I have a group of friends asking about New Year's Eve at Captain Oliver's. I know they would need reservations, as they are a large group. Some are single ladies who don't want to be in an all couples atmosphere. Would Captain Oliver's be a good choice? Will there be music and dancing? May I give them contact info to make reservation? Merci.

WOW,sounds like you enjoyed! Too bad about the booze being confiscated. We check our bag home for just that reason. Pinel is my favorite day! But it can be expensive for lunch. Lessons Learned. Time to start planning your next trip!

Of course, we are all concerned about the future of that area. I've loved Mullet since 1972 and it is still my favorite beach. Sorry, if golf course comments offended you, but the golf course was what made the area so beautiful. Much better than high density housing. I also pray that future development is done in a manner that will enhance the property and provide much needed jobs.

If they do keep the golf course, I hope the greens fees won't go up!

Love St. Bart's, very French, very expensive, very nice restaurants & beaches. Love Anguilla, beautiful beaches, laid back vibe, not as picturesque as St. Bart's, but relaxing for a great day on a gorgeous beach. Never been to Nevis, but it's not easy to get to from St. Maarten. They do have flights to St. Kitts.
