Do you mean if you buy a floating week at LaVista can you use a LaVista Beach unit instead? The answer to that is no. The LVB units are more expensive than the LV units.

I agree with Elaine, and we have never rented a cell phone either. We also have Verizon. However, last year our Verizon phone, a global phone with international service, didn't work in many locations, which lead us to be concerned that it wouldn't be reliable in an emergency. Because of that concern we're considering renting this year. We plan on waiting until we get there, and

Be sure to have at least one dinner in Grand Case, and spend some time on Orient Beach. Both are unique to St. Martin. The 12-metre challenge is definitely a good choice.

It's a flavored rum made locally on the island. There are many different flavors, and they come in hand-painted bottles. You'll probably get your first taste after dinner in Grand Case, as many of the restaurants bring you a complimentary shot after your meal.

We were also apprehensive about driving on the island on our first trip there, but it really is easy. First of all, you're never going very fast, because of the traffic and the condition of the roads.
