As far as thinking about the "French > tipping structures": hey, welcome to learning > about a different culture with customs that are > just as valid as ours. Some people even try to > learn a language other than English. Well, actually, the tipping structure of a lot, if not practically all of the expensive french side restaurants aren't valid, at all. I've had that news e-mail for a few years. At one time, in the beginning, it came regulary, but this year I've received one, and last year two or three...something like that...no idea why this news e-mail isn't delivered as intended. Can't remember where I signed up for it. I wanna say on the Daily Herald website, but maybe not...

Yes, that answers the question. $1600 stashed unattended in a hotel room where the maids (especially if they were more or less looking for it) could see it, could be the reason for the break in. I'm not saying it's your fault; that's not my point. I'm saying that it looks like a set up, and not a random act. I'm seriously beginning to believe that theft is an,

From your last name, stated in previous posts on the subject, I didn't have any idea who you were. But, from your above username "Jim and Janet" I am familiar with your posting backgroud and give full weight to your credibility, with regard to your version of the story. (If you're who I think you are) You stated above that, if anyone has a question, you'd be happy to a

Inside job. Maids knew the stuff was out, guard didn't see nuttin'. Management has some responsibility, but there's really no need for them to have to put up with these people's demand for a pound o' flesh and verbal abuse. Edited to add: However, I find using, and being allowed to use, an internet board (TTOL) for revenge and one sided "gang ups" as o

Now I remember why I banned TTOL. lol! Bruce doesn't care if he disrupts another board; when he's on the verge of tears because (whaaa!) TTOL is down, again. :-)

Hey Bruce, Who cares? It has nothing to do with St. Martin. You're paying Gert, how much, to use his board for TTOL's benefit?

It didn't strike me as the most professional piece ever written, either. However, it depends on whether it was written as a news report, or essay form editorial. I've read some pretty rough stuff by established left wing americam journalists; who write under the cover of an essay (their opinion), and use "popular" language without apology. I really don't see a big dif

I've never seen any "inside stuff" posted, where there are certain "best opportunities" etc. in this regard. For best results, suggest Googling St. Maarten/St. Martin real estate, -condos/apts. for rent- etc. and post again for recommendations/comments on particular properties/areas etc. I've seen the real estate agency Remax mentioned, try that. Oh, I didn't end with the obligatory "dolphin comment". (green pool water means green pool paint) The Mirage Las Vegas has been delighting audiences with their happy and well cared for dolphins, for years. Enjoy your dolphin show, there is no credible evidence, and certainly no proof, that dolphins are any different than any other domesticated animal. Sure, they swam f

It's not urban sprawl, it's too many animals looking for food, and no hunting seasons etc. Lol! typical animal rights left wing line of -too many people-, unbelievable. Pat gives an excellent example about the deer being all over the place. I don't think Pat just urban sprawled all over the deer's rights. I think the deer went to Pat, and there's a reason for i

"Animal Rights" activists have broght on a situation where there are now too many wild animals in close proximity to people; and some dangerous (the animals) ones at that. Everyday there are reports in the news about people being attacked and mauled by animals in heavily populated areas. I'd be more concerned about the above situation than kept dolphins that are no more put upon

Dose Thrifty's "Blue Chip" apply in SXM? I.e., is the paperwork all made out when you arrive, and you just have to sign? How about 10% discount rate codes like "WMRT", coupons, coupon upgrades, etc.? Do they credit FF miles for the rental? With a Thrifty reservation for SXM, can you check the Thrifty website, and rebook if the rates fluctuated down? I alwa
