Cool... let me know and if so, I'll try to find some way of getting them down there. They're not bulky and take up about the size of a shoebox. They're great videos and I'm sure would be watched over and over.

Yep...he learned his lesson VERY fast. This was the first restaurant they went to and also the first trip to the island (their honeymoon). On Sunday I'll ask him if he can remember which restaurant it was. Thankfully, he took after his Aunt in the fact that nothing gets us down when we're set on having a good vacation... and he did! So much so that even though he is deathly afrai

I have a bunch of VHS tapes (about 10) and I was wondering if they would be able to watch them. Obviously they would need a VHS player. I don't want to throw them out because there are some good ones like the Indiana Jones Trilogy plus a few really wonderful children's Disney cartoon films. Do you think they would could use them? If they can, I will try to find a way of getting them t

Just be careful when you read the signs. My nephew stayed in the Grand Case area and went into a restaurant that posted 1:1 outisde. After the bill came, the food wasn't charged as 1:1 and that was because the sign was deceptive. The drinks were 1:1 but the food wasn't. Just a warning....

Thanks Norbert for offering that important piece of info. Someone once posted a report that it was a sushi place now so it's nice to know that this was not really true. In fact we avoided going this past December, only because we don't eat sushi.... Sounds like someplace we can now go in December.

I can't help you with the 1 for 1 but Bamboo did open in Maho about 8 months ago and has gotten some nice reviews for their sushi. I believe that it is mostly if not all...a sushi restaurant now.

And if this poster actually read my post, they would see that this is done in MANY establishments in the US as well, my workplace for one! So to condemn Capt. Oliver's for doing what other places do as well is to make a rash judgement with blinders on. What makes my US workplace bad is that tipping is not even the norm. Some Members do tip the waitstaff but under the table and usually

You know, you aren't the first to say this. I have heard a few others comment about the change in quality. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road. Maybe if enough people comment directly to them, they would rethink the Chef position which may have changed.

I couldn't agree more on that one. My reviews have always been based on honesty and experience and not based on who owns the place or who works there, nor what I will get in return and so when I read a review from people such as that, all I see are typed dollar signs rather than words.

There are Catholic Churches on the island so you should not have a problem finding one. Here's some info: The Dutch side has Roman Catholic churches in Philipsburg, South Reward, and Simpson Bay. St Martin of Tours at 30 Front Street (Philipsburg) has services Monday and Tuesday at 6AM, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 6 PM, and Sunday at 8 AM. The phone is 599 542 5892. The French side

Every restaurant (and every waiter within that restaurant) has their own interpretation of the "service charge". I don't care what anyone says is the standard....what we think and what every restaurant thinks are usually 2 different things. As an example, while on the island, I once asked a French waiter in a Grand Case restaurant if, in fact the service charge was their tip

But on an actual serious note, Rick just came home from his work with a new product that they're stocking in the vending machine.... are you ready for this...Burger King "Ketchup and Fries" snacks. And I'm not kidding either. They taste EXACTLY like BK fries with ketchup on them! OMG...sooooo good!

even though they probably don't remember you ten minutes after you leave their establishment!! Now, ain't that the truth! There are maybe one or 2 people that I have ever met on the island that could truly consider us memorable acquaintenances (I won't even say friends) and so your comment is just too funny! Now, next year I should put together a short April 1st trip repo

LOL.... same with me! But there's really nothing you could do about it now anyway. If you did click on any of the first listed sites and the site opened, then chances are you would not have this worm. Actually, it's not really April 1st that this worm is targeting. It seems to be waiting for direction and no one really knows how, what or even why. It's truly very scary as it

There is a worm called Conficker that has been infiltrating computer systems for quite a while now. Monitors have been tracking this worm which lies dormant in the PC, waiting for "instructions". It has been transmitted through even the most reliable websites. According to our sources, this is what we were told: I. Description Home users can apply a simple test for the presen

Thanks so much Bruce. I'll definitely check this out. My pool is not large at all when looking at the average size built in so the maintenance should be a snap (9000 gallons).

You have that right Zebulon! You don't know how much I wish that more people would recognize this site. The answers and reviews that are posted here are almost always right on the money without the thought that the poster was being swayed or threatened to follow the "crowd". The moderators Barbara and Philippe are fair as well as extremely knowledgeable of the island too which m

Fantastic! I just placed a call to my pool guy to see what the damage will be to set this up. I'll let Barbara know what I get as an estimated cost with installation and I'll also ask him if the components can be bought here and easily installed elsewhere and how much that would be.

Thank you soooo much ilovedivi!!!! Truly appreciated...looks like I'm gonna go that route. Just curious but during the winter months (cold by us) is there something that needs to be done to protect the components?

There is a new filtering system that actually uses salt to convert into chlorine but it supposedly does it in such a gentle and accurate way that there is very little chance for overkill with the chlorine. My little one actually jumps right in (or falls in since he's the clutziest dog I have ever had). He is only allowed in the back yard with a life preserver on now because of this. He f

I am not trying to be a wise-guy but if it disturbed you that much, why did you not move out immediately upon finding this thing. It probably would not have bothered me at all but every person as a certain tolerance level for animals and so animals of any kind may not be your thing.
