Guana Bay is a residential area primarily. Although the beach is not that frequently used, there are many houses nearby. I do not think it is legal to build a bonfire on the beach. I am not sure why you would want to do that anyway. I remember we used to build bonfires years ago in the States, but that was because it was chilly at night and we all huddled around to stay warm. it is not chill

well, my favorite is the place at Lido in Cole Bay. I buy chicken and rib dishes from them all the time when I am too lazy to cook. They are very cheap and very good. There also is a good place in Simpson Bay right on the corner by the RBTT Bank building. She is not open all the time but she has good food. Wilma I think her name is. Anthony Bourdain the famous chef featured her in one of his c

well, I think most of the restaurants on the island give good service. St. Maarten is very sophisticated when it comes to its restaurants. If you want good food and good service, I suggest Pineapple Pete's in Simpson Bay. It's a fun place to dine..open air..friendly staff who are excellent..and very good food.

There is an Indian restaurant right next door... It's a great restaurant..

Jer first of all, the easy thing.. where are you coming from? there are big jets that come here. if you have to come via Puerto Rico, then it is more of a problem. I believe only one jet a day arrives from PR.. it's best to come through NYC and get a direct flight.. you will have to pay a fortune for those dogs but it can be done.. start calling the airlines.... It's true.. y

it's part of anguilla carnival celebrations. It's the day of the biggest and best beach party ever! anguilla has boat races that day and the beach is lined with food shacks and music and people! lots and lots of people. everyone who owns a boat on st maarten or st barth's comes over for the day. there are boats anchored out 4 deep. it is a lot of fun!

Rick with all due respect, I thinky uo are out of line with your post. You have lived here nine months? and you are an expert on who is a racist? the thread is about crime and safety, not racism. the crime that occurs on St. maarten is due to crimanality and has nothing to do with racism. In fact most of the crime is black on black unfortunnately.

It's a very nice hotel. the grounds are lovely. I am sure you will enjoy your stay there. It is not on the water of course so there is no beach there. It is actually located on the Simpson Bay Lagoon. They have a huge marina there. and the casino there is fabulous!

before you go to swim with the dolphins, please do some reasearch. many dolphin faqcilities including the one in Anguilla are not so healthy for the dolphins. the 12 metre challenge is awesome. that is a fabulous experience. fishing? got to Lee's Roadside Grill on the main road near the bridge... not far from your resort. ask for Lee or Chi Chi and see if you can arrange a fishing tri
