recovering slowly... the island sustained a lot of damage but most places are open and cleaning up and repairing.

oh boy. It is true. we were not properly informed. first of all NHC had it wrong. Then our local MET office lost all communication. It was a mess. and some reports have the island receiving 200 km ( 124 m) wind gusts but NHC only had it at a CAT 1 storm. I can tell you that around my house we definitely had over 100 mile wind gusts for hours. Gonzalo was way stronger than a CAT 1. The airport

I agree with Pat.. obtaining residency is a difficult long process.getting a work permit is another long hard process. Do your homework before you make a move. Maybe even come down for a couple of months, make some contacts, do some research and then decide.

fresh fish at either the Marigot open air market or the Simpson Bay market by the bridge ..you have to go early in the morning. Skipjack's Restaurant in Simpson Bay also has a fresh fish market in the front

therre are resturants in the complex of the Atlantis Casino The Sugar Cane Cafe is open for breakfast also there is a new restaurant aross the road from the Rainbow CLub and I think they are open for breakfast too.. UNfotutnately I forget the name right now
