many stores stay open late on xmas eve..always last minute shoppers..most places are closed on Christmas day..its a pretty quiet day with most people staying at home with their families. you can always find a restaurant open though and yes I would make reservations. you can probably make them when you get on island. the 26th is Boxing Day, celebrated on the Dutch side, not so much on the French

We have even started to board up our house ( after getting caught with our pants down last year with Gonzalo) NHC has Danny basically heading right at us. The good news is he is losing a lot of his power and is forecast to be a tropical storm with 50 MPH winds by the time he gets here. Hopefully we will get some m

I do not know if Verizon works here. If it does, you probably have to pay roaming charges. You should check with Verizon and see what international plans they offer. You can always rent a phone from Sharon Harris. cheap and easy with good service.

this is the web site for the Catholic church in Philipsburg which is closest to the cruise ship terminal. I believe you could contact them for mass times on the 31st. As far as I know, there would only be a midnight mass. I don't think any of the other churches on the island would be a consideration for you if you are coming in on a cruise ship. The traffic is very high on that day.

I have never heard of any of the Italian restaurants doing the traditional 7 fishes. Perhaps you could try to contact Spiga in Grand Case to see if they do it.
