hi lancebrown I just saw your post. My internet has been on and off , more off. so I didn;t see it earlier. Phillipe no longer lives on the island. Gert is in the Antarctic although I have been in touch with him. There are lots of SXM updates on the stromcarib.com page. what can I say? Irma hit SXM with a wallop. the island is a small island and you can easily pass back and forth between the Dutch side and the French side. There is much to do. many beaches, beach bars, water sports, wonderful restaurants,local markets etc. Be sure to rent a car so you can travel to everything.

the Lady Liberty statue at the Agrément roundabout on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten was sculpted by Theodore Bonev in 2007 to commemorate the 159th anniversary of the Emancipation of slavery on the island. It has no connection (other than a thematic one) to the Statue of Liberty in New York.

reliable internet? 3 choices Telem Caribserve Scarlett Maybe CableNet if it's in your area. can't vouch how reliable they are everyone complains about how slow internet is on the dutch side. I have Telem which is slow IMO. there are no forums particularly for SXM residents but there are SXM forums on Facebook SXM or Bust, and Pirates of SXM and Everything St. Marten...... which i

the dutch side internet is slow. French side they say is faster. if on the dutch side look into Telnet highest speed available this is what they advertise there also is scarlet

well, I asked around and the consensus seems to be there is no place in Grand case that sells them but you can probably get them at the hotels. But I was told the french lottery stores sell USA papers and there is apprently one in Hope Estate. Good luck!
