Clarkee, don't feed the trolls please. You'll find that a lot has changed, like Barbara, Elaine and Philippe already said. With the development, there is also more trash - unfortunately. Still nothing compared to any town of the same size in either Europe or the US. /opinion

The locals like Zouk, Merengue, Dancehall and HipHop A lot of Techno and Vocal House on the French side. The major clubs fly in top international DJ's for one-off shows. Beach bars etc have resident DJ's, most of whom have lived here for years. Don't think it's going to fly unless you already know a proprietor who is willing to offer you a residency, or unless you first

Contessa, there's no hornet's nest We have about 40 restaurants that take online reservations. They pay us an annual fee to cover expenses. The other 80+ on the map are listed for free, I keep adding more as time permits. Will try to make an entry for BC today, any other favorites that I'm missing? Edit/add: Bistrot Caraibes is on there, am I thinking of the wrong BC?

Just in case someone is looking for this... I finally got around to making our interactive restaurant map available outside of the DineSXM website. All the info without the clutter There are over 120 restaurants on the map as of today. If you click on any of the markers, a balloon will open up with contact info and a summary of cuisines, features and specialties. You can bookmark the dini

Hi Barbara, Lee's, Yvette and Mark's Place all have mini profiles on DineSXM. But since we don't have their prices, we can't list them in the same category as the ones that provide us with that info. The site now lists over 100 restaurants, and I'm preparing to add at least another 100 very soon. Norbert - DineSXM

New low-midrange priced: IZI opened today in Simpson Bay. They serve a variety of fresh pasta, David from La Gondola in Cupecoy is the owner. Choose a type of pasta and a sauce that goes with it. The menu is in the form of a matrix, with slots for pasta/sauce selections that go well together. Also open now: Tijuana Cantina (former Tijuana Yacht Club) - new management & staff, and new Me

Here at the office and using your link, I'm getting 3.44Mb/s download with Telnet. That's while streaming audio and middle of the day. Upload is quite a different story: .38Mb/s Off the top of my mind, that's about $150/mo and includes a fixed ip address. Norbert

As far as I know, you can get programming from DirecTV, DishNetwork (English and Spanish language) or CanalSatellite. With a bigger dish, you would theoretically also be able to receive other providers, including FTA and those catering to South America. Bell's satellite footprint / spot beams do not reach the Caribbean. I believe that Dish/Bell require their accounts to have a US/CA billi

Loved your trip report! Like Barbara said: honest - very candid and detailed re Turtle Pier... Personally, I don't remember ever having left Bamboo Bernie's without spending 50-60 bucks a person for dinner... 70 for two must be the absolute minimum Norbert - DineSXM.com

Bob, With all respect, please note the date above my post and its context.. The person I replied to was planning to come to the island in the fist week of December, without a reservation -and- looking for a $10-$25 nightly rate (or considering to camp in a tent on the beach). How much is the Radisson going for, 300-450 Euro a night? Norbert
