Hi Everyone. We usually go to SXM first week of December and end of May, but this year going 1st week of March as well. We also usually just rent a car when we get there, but wondering if it may be more difficult since it's high season. We're getting in on a Tues, so maybe it won't be too hard, but would appreciate suggestions and maybe suggestions on some rental places as well

Haven't posted in quite a while, but hope everyone is experiencing a Happy & Healthy New Year. Did a trip in early December & stayed at La Terrasse - as usual everything about our trip was wonderful. We still do have the timeshare at the Towers for May, but thinking of doing a week or 2 in early March and staying at Porto Cupecoy. We've been to the property twice now & th

/I was told that insurance ($80) is now mandatory on car rentals in SXM. We've never paid that before and have been coming for almost 20 years now - didn't pay it last year. We always had traveller's protection with AMEX. Am also hearing that the car companies don't accept AMEX anymore as payment. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks.

We leave for our beloved SXM this coming Monday & I'm so looking forward to it. Does anyone know if the bus/restaurant on the beach, set up down the road from Mary's Boon is still there? I can't remember the Dutch name, but think it started w/a "K" - it was fabulous. They serve drinks & tapas. Just wondering if still there. Also, though we've been travel

Well, we're back from another excellent adventure in SXM. We were fortunate to have an entire week of mostly sunny & very warm weather w/a passing shower here & there late in the day or early morn. We had fabulous meals at Temptation, Valentino, Talk of Town bbq, Rare, Saratoga & Bamboo Bernie (Maho). We enjoyed breakfasts at Turtle Pier & Mary's Boon & had wonderf

Thank you all very much for taking the time to answer (Pat, thanks - if Rochelle is around I'm sure she'll print the passes out for us) - Even though we'll probably print out boarding passes, we know to get to the airport at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours before - I understand now about the passport checking line as we experienced something very similar in the Bahamas - I'm glad to he

Thank you for your responses - Barbara, I will see if the Towers will let us print our boarding passes the day before; alternatively, can you recommend a internet cafe where I might be able to do so? If we have our boarding passes & only carry-on, can we not proceed to security? MichaelD, I'm not sure what passport control is? We're also flying in & out of EWR - thanks again.

This year we're trying carry-on w/no luggage to check - We're travelling on Continental. I'm not sure if the airport has kiosks where we can print our boarding passes for the flight home & if so, what's the usual time on security line before boarding? Unfortunately, we can't stay longer than a week this time & so will be heading home on saturday, but at least it

Hello All, Haven't been to SXM since last May & going again this year - Any new restaurants that anyone will suggest? Temptation is our favorite & we do like Valentino's & La Gondola, Rainbow, California, but were hoping for some more moderately priced places - I don't know if Bamboo Bernie's ever opened in Maho, but we used to enjoy that - also, remember Cha C
