Hi - any idea which place would be best to buy champagne? Cost U Less or the place over by the port? Anyone have a rough estimate? I know it varies by size, brand, etc. Just trying to get an idea for the cost of a champagne toast. Thanks!

There are two bars.. Sunset Beach Bar and Driftwood. Simple to get to. Just drive past the airport, pass it by, and make a left around the traffic circle. Keep in mind that flights arrive on the average between noon and 2pm.. Here are some of the flight times AA from JFK, NY 12:24pm AA from Miami, FL 2:00pm CO from Newark, NJ 12:08pm US from Philadephia, PA 1:44p

Kimbere, I stayed in the 2br unit there once (which was comprised of a 1BR connecting with a Studio) and I remember my brother making coffee in his unit (he was in the studio portion). So I'm 99.99% sure there's a coffee pot in those as well. If not, you can always try contacting housekeeping.. When are you going?.. I'm heading down there this Saturday for 2 weeks.. woohoo

Is the Sunset Beach Bar still closed?.. I just saw on the History Channel the 10 Most Extreme Airports (St Maarten was #4 by the way), and the show lists a production date of 2010 yet has the Sunset Beach Bar. I thought it closed? Thanks! Karin.

Hi - an unusual question.. does the grocery store at the roundabout by Belair have Distilled Water? (it's for a medical machine - so we can't use regular water) Or would we need to go to the Pharmacy downtown?.. etc.. Thanks!

Pat - The airlines have a rule that you may have heard mentioned called the rule 240/80. (240 covers the US, 80 covers international flights). The airline is required to protect you on either the same day or if you prefer one day before or after as long as it is available in the same ticketed cabin class. Regardless of how discounted the fare was that you were on. I'm glad AA finally rea

Just an FYI - If you're booked on the American Airlines nonstop flight from JFK to St Maarten you may want to check your air reservation. I'm not sure what date it starts, but American Airlines is in the middle of doing schedule changes which has resulted in decreased service from JFK. Their nonstop flights, for the month of August for example, now only fly Sunday, Tuesday, and Thurs

Great Bay is offered both as an EP (no meals included) and AI (all inclusive - meals, drinks, etc) option. If choosing Great Bay, I would suggest the Ocean-view Rooms. The main building runs parallel with the road. So if you're in a 'Mountain Side' room, you overlook the road, parking lot and hillside. For a minimal amount typically you can get the other side of the building w

American has 3 different tiers of awards within Coach Class.. The 25k mileage amount is still the same as it was previously for their "Milesaver Off Peak".. the next level is their "Milesaver Peak" which goes up from 30k to 35k.. both are still based on the limited seat restriction.. if you're early and lucky enough to get it on the flight you want.. the higher amount tha

Not sure how many people are traveling with you, but remember you are allowed 2 pieces of checked baggage per ticketed passenger. If it's just the two of you plus the baby who's a lap child, that only means 4 pieces. The airlines count pack n plays, strollers, etc. So keep that in mind. You may want to check with the airline what the additional cost would be for extra items.

Unit 306 is in building A or B on the little bay side on the 2nd floor (Divi Math). These are the buildings that are right after the water sports center and before the rock pool if that helps..

Great news isn't it. Now that JetBlue is going to St Maarten, the major airlines will attempt to match their fares.. I booked my August Saturday to Saturday from JFK at $411 including taxes on American!

I'm familiar with Hertz and Thrifty being right on that road across from the runway.. but Alamo and National I'm not sure where exactly they are. For some reason I believe they are around the bend from the airport..

Not sure if any locations have changed since the new airport have opened, but I need to know if the following are still located along Airport Road across from the runway: Hertz National Thrifty Alamo Avis Meaning that I don't want to trek further away than that shuttle wise just to pick up the car.. and I know some people will be itching to tell me all about other companies or horr

I haven't stayed there, but have seen the rooms.. not bad.. try to get one of the newly renovated ones facing the pool if possible for a better view.. as for their all inclusive plan, there are restrictions.. for example, with the meals: -Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner daily plus a different theme night at the Ocean Terrace Restaurant and/or A-la-carte *breakfast, lunch and

Well, perfume and liquor definitely are cheaper.. the shop at Divi, right across from the Check-in area actually has some pretty good prices.. just remember, you can't take it in your carry-on for the flight home.. gotta pack it.. as for dining, there are sooo many restaurants to chose from on the island.. unfortunately, i'm not one for seafood, so can't help ya there.. i know Pine

I used Thrify last year and plan on using them again this year.. Sure, the car had dents.. almost every car on the island does.. so.. it's not a fashion statement.. i'll survive.. i did have a few issues with the car last year, but brought it back, it was addressed, and i was giving a new car.. no problem at all.. Davvvy.. you didn't mention if it's a 1br or Studio, but both are also offered on the 1st floor depending on which building. When you get to the front desk, explain the situation. They're not going to intentionally put you on a higher floor or up the hill if they can avoid it. If in a studio, as for building A or B. If in a 1BR, ask for either A, B, or 1 thru 4. All of which o

First, sorry to hear that your wife had a little incident.. are you booked into the hotel or timeshare?.. the hotel is only 2 stories.. with timeshare, usually you don't know where you're staying unless it's an owned week.. based on your wording, i don't believe it is.. how do you know where you'll be?.. and when are you traveling?

I don't see why they wouldn't let you do that. I've stayed there before and seen people take leftover's out, so I don't see a difference. Just curious, but why wouldn't you want to eat in the restaurant? They offer both inside and outside dining. So if the weather is an issue with a slight drizzle, or a hot evening, you can always dine inside as well.

Yes, they do both have shuttles at the airport, but my question is how far apart are their two phsyical car locations where you pick up the car?.. And Ed, you couldn't be more correct about the unsolicited advise about Kenny's car rental.. I was never questioning how good or bad they are or any other company, just trying to figure out the exact locale, that's all..

Although I appreciate your opinions on other car rental companies, unfortunately that wasn't my question. I have a voucher for a free week from both, avis and hertz. My question was where exactly is Avis located on that road, that's all. Unless Kenny's will offer me the same, he or any other company, doesn't help me.

Yes, an odd request, sorry in advance. I'm familiar with where Hertz and Thrify is on the road to the airport, but where is Avis?.. is that the first one you hit as you leave the airport towards the car rentals?.
