WWII....I would love to give you my contact info, and get yours as well. I will send you a DVD, and cover the costs of mailing. Ideally I would love to get a copy of this before next year...lol! In fact, I'm heading down in 36 days. Thank you. I know that Pat and I would both appreciate it. I would be happy to coordinate for both of us. Leona

Thanks for the suggestion Jean. While they are certainly interesting, and number 1 is heart wrenching, Jan Roosens isn't the video I'm thinking of. These seem much like a travel advertisement in parts....and certainly for Oyster Bay... The one I'm searching for did show pre-storm, and boats pouring in through the open drawbridge....just one after another...which we now know th

I believe the one I recall (or perhaps I've mixed up pieces of several) showed or talked about the bridges being open and long lines of boats pouring into the lagoon. Boats hitting each other as the winds increased. Scenes from along the roads after. Not sure Dutch side or French side, sorry. May have had both. I don't think it's one I've found on YouTube.

Does anyone have a copy of the video (VHS) that was available on island following Hurricane Luis? The Towers used to have it available for check-out and watching in your room until they felt it was in appropriate. It's not the one I've found reproduced on YouTube by tripcaldan (?) at least I don't think it is. I remember the one I watched had a lot of footage of the boats in t

Is there any limit as to what can be built on the beach? I noticed a huge ugly monstrosity of metal scaffolding and "stage" going up at a place on Orient. Making it appear more of a nightclub than a beach. Big speakers and such. Such a shame...

That is a terribly scary experience to go through! I wonder if it is related to this incident? and they went back this time to another house armed and prepared?

Yes, VerizonWireless phones work there just fine. I went last month and dialed (I think it was *611) before I left to activate International roaming. I think it was 1.99 per minute? No problems at all.

Oh how nice...sounds like a lovely time! (what you remember! lol) After perusing that menu and those pictures, I must check out the Big O (ok, Captain O's...) next week when I'm down...and I love asparagus! would go nicely with this: NY Steak with a sweet and spicy Cajun honey Mango chutney.

Hello all.. Was curious as to what recommendations people have to hear live music. Local bands, shows, etc. Several years ago King Beau Beau did a calypso show at Lynette's (probably gone...did they ever reopen?), and I remember on Friday nights there were rock bands doing covers at The Boathouse...which is also most certainly gone... What's happening around the island now? Or

Ok...how did I not hear how bad Omar would be on our US weather reports?! We are supposed to fly down this Saturday 10/25 ... I realize everyone is asking you kind people "in the know" for news, but has anyone heard about The Towers? As to whether they and the pool are operational? I now know why when I tried to call last weekend, there was no answer!

Yes, this does appear to be an old thread... but perhaps still some valid points and thoughts shared on jewelers? In the past I always dealt with Grand Jewelers in P-Burg. I was wondering if any of the jewelers will buy back a diamond? The thing being, I had my engagement ring upgraded 12 years ago to a larger stone, and am now divorced. I have no need for this big diamond, and want to g

I would love to hear how things are going at The Towers from anyone who has visited recently... Due to life events, I haven't been able to go in 6 years, but am definitely going this year on 10/25 ... Reading posts here, it sounds as if crime is up, and that's scary ... And I would like to thank people who posted about Lesley Bruce and car rentals! I've already made a res

I saw on another thread that a board has been created for Towers Owners to communicate about issues affecting their timeshare ownership. Just signed up myself, and I think it's a GREAT idea. It is certainly a start. Especially if the assessment issue is going to raise it's ugly head at Mullet too.

Hey all...first post here, but I have been visiting St Maarten for 13 years now. Due to "life" circumstances, my yearly (and sometimes twice yearly) visits haven't occured since 2002. I noticed on that last trip that the big modern grocery store that was at the circle (near Burger King?) was closed. Where is there to shop now? I read something about Grand Marche in another po
