We had 2 units/weeks...one in building 3 and Villa 13. We 'gave' back the Bldg 3 unit in exchange for maintenance/supplemental fees for both that were due. We kept the Villa since we enjoyed that the most for a number of reasons. We now only have the Villa and pay maintenance on that. It was getting too expensive to keep both as much as we liked them.

Rather than just let it go....I would write them asking them if they would take the unit/s back to cover any outstanding maintenance/supplemental fee/s. Otherwise they will send it to the collection agency and why risk ruining your credit. we did that with one of our units and kept the Villa. Worked out great for us.

We stayed there 12/3-9 2011....they were painting the exterior; the pool has been replastered and repainted; new chaise lounges/umbrellas, A definite improvement since our 2010 visit but still needs updating, especially new appliances and AC in the units. We have a Villa and the AC in the rooms are in need of repair or replacing, the plunge pool was half full as it was last year but was taken car

How big is your group? Public transit (buses) do not keep to a regular 'schedule', at best, it is a hit/miss. They are small type vans and the locals use them mostly. You might be better off renting a van to get around the island.

We will be in SXM 12/3-10/2011. My partners passport will expire 2 months later in Feb 2012. Will there be any problem at either SXM or JFK customs? Any info would be helpful. Thanks,

NO WAY! They are dangerous on SXM. It is too congested, a car is much safer and better.

We were there in Dec (12/4-11) at our T/S Villa 13 after a 2 yr absence. The overall appearance of the Sapphire isn't as bad as I thought. It could use an exterior paint job. Lobby furniture updated and front desk was pleasant. Upon our arrival we were given a flyer advising maid service Wed/Sat only. The Villa itself was semi clean as if it hadn't been used in awhile. New furniture ins

Mr. Verdier is the the owner. His son pretty much ruins/runs the place. He/they are like chamelions. You will NEVER get any assistance from either of them. Chalk it up to another "life's lesson".

Have been to both....Saba has NO beaches, Anguilla does. Great snorkeling at Saba and lot more to sightsee. Anguilla mainly beaches. Depends on what you want to do....sand gravity or sightsee.

Could this be the 'infamous' Supplemental Fee that the properties are trying to get away with and so far have?

I would be very surprised if Mr. Verdier responded. He is NEVER available at the resort, via e-mail, post or otherwise. As for Wyndham....I'm still surprised they don't care about their name being used on a resort with a bad reputation.

You would think with all the maintenance fees AND the Supplemental Fees they've collected that the resort would be in tip top shape and an RCI Gold Crown. It's a shame the way it has fallen in disrepair over the years. Where are the fees going? SXMaholic

I've got 2 AA accounts and each one has a different 'contact' info (cell phone, e-mail) and NOT once was I ever notified.

AA is notorious for doing that....AND not notifying you of the changes. They've cancelled our flights and then reinstated at a later date. Everyone should check their flights periodically regardless of the airline.

Trying to reach Sapphire is a feat in itself. I've gotten in touch with them at 011 599 545 2242/2250. Fax 011 599 545 2507 You may get through and put to voicemail.....and hopefully will get a return call. Do you know your Sales Reps extention? That may get a return call. Good luck. Gloria

Sapphire Beach Club won the first round on the SA fees. It is being appealed and has a very good chance of winning. There are special appeal judges that visit the island several times a year and they have been known to reverse the lower courts decisions.

Patsy...the owners association is a big farse. Puppeted by the Verdiers. Bill Olliver, President, is on the Verdiers side. The Sapphire is notorious with not responding to e-mails, faxes and even phone calls. Wyndham claims no responsibility and only lets Sapphire use the name. Do a search since there has been info regarding all of your concerns, questions both here and at www.traveltalkonlin

Lee, if you do a search you will find quite a few issues re fees due at Sapphire. Everyone who has not paid or are/were late in their maintenance/special assessment fees got the letter from the collection agency. The 'board' at the Sapphire is just a pawn for the Verdiers. There is a litigation going on in the SXM courts re the supplemental fees. Are you a member of the litigation? Y

Just curious.....Has any SBCer gotten the SBC Tenants Assn letter to nominate or be a candidate for a position on the board? As usual it arrived after the filing date. This is so typical of Sapphire and Bill Olliver (Pres).

Agnes....I've called the Collection agency and requested a breakdown of the fees they are trying to collect. I also sent a certified, return receipt letter requesting the same thing. To date, I haven't heard anything from them or Sapphire regarding this matter and it has been well over a month now. I told them that I am part of the litigation group and it is illegal for them to request

Don't even bother joining the SBC Tenants Association. Bill Olliver is useless and 'works' for the Verdiers. It's a farse! We sent Meridian (the collection agency) a certified letter which they received and as of yet have NOT gotten any breakdown as to what the $ is for. Maybe we stopped them in their tracks by confronting them...who knows. We payed our 2008 Maintenance in

Not sure exactly what your issues with SBC specifically are. SBC is useless when it comes to assistance of any kind. We got a call from the collection agency and asked for more info. They sent a form letter with a flat fee with no explanation. We sent a certified letter advising we wanted the fee broken down and that we are in the litigation group with a copy of the letter from the SXM lawyer h

If I recollect correctly, it was in Sept 2006 with the Annual 'report' they send to all timeshare owners. Saying it was necessary since so many TSrs don't pay their maintenance and cost of things going up, yada, yada. Which we all know is a crock. I'll look further in my papers to be absolutely sure.

Barbara.......be well and than God you are all right. Something has to be done about this madness going on. It's a small island and needs a lot more police presence. Does anyone know if they are they SXMers or immigre? I would hate to think a local would do this to their beautiful island.

From our 'brief' discussion with the collection agency we were advised they added an additional $300 per week for 'late fees'. Our Maintenance Fees have been paid but we are in 'litigation' for the Supplemental Fees. We, too, are asking for a 'breakdown' of our $3500 fees they say we owe. We own 2 wks. Do they honestly think we will just send them $3500 wi

Quite a few people have been getting calls from a collection agency for payment delinquency of both Maintenance AND Supplemental Fees with no warning of any kind. We advised them we are in the SBC litigation group for the the Supplemental and will not pay (as per court ruling at this time). They know nothing about the litigation. We did receive a letter after we spoke with them which gives a lump
