Your Part 1 is great as usual. Enjoy all the food photos. Will soon be in some of the same chairs that you sat in during your trip. Thanks for the work it took to put this post together. Larry

Have made many trips on the ferries to Pinel, but never knew the names of any of the gentlemen who run the boats from Cul de Sac to the island. The fellow with the whistle and only one arm that works seems to be in charge most of the time. Anyone know the names of any of the boat captains?

Happy Birthday. My granddaughter celebrated her 13th birthday today. Leaving childhood and heading into her teen years where she will think she knows everything. Didn't we all go through that?

Good job Norm. I will be in touch soon to find out how to get to your place above the cruise terminal. Would love to see the ships leaving in the evening.

I just posted a story on my blog of a little girl in nearby Elizabethtown, PA whose family is in need of funds to cover the costs from a life altering procedure she just had done. Read the story and see if you can possibly help this family. The link to my blog is: www.lifewithldub.blogspot.com Thanks to all who can contribute. Larry

Just looking through some photos from 2007 and that was the last year I took photos of Boo Boo Jams. I'm not sure how soon after that year that it may have burned.

We love the island. The first time we went to Anguilla we took a taxi every place we wanted to go, but on other trips we rented a car so we could have the freedom of going where and when we wanted. Probably cost the same in the long run. Do have to drive on the left side of the road, but I enjoy something different and there is very little traffic. We were able to visit Bankie Banx at the Dun

So sorry I didn't see your post until after the fact. Hope your renewal of your vows was a success. We will be celebrating our 48th anniversary this year when we travel in April-May. WE have never renew out vows, but maybe on our 50th we will have to do that on St. Martin.

We have been to Anguilla a few times in the past 15 years. We used the taxi service a few times and other times have rented a car right outside the ferry terminal. Cost is almost the same as the taxi and you have the freedom to travel to various places on the island. We enjoyed the Cuisinart resort and the hydroponic farm that is on site, Bankie Banx's Dune Preserve restaurant and the Bla

11. Re: why
I assume that Bernadine has someone come and feed all her cats while she is gone. She must miss them soooo much when she is away. We have only one cat at present and when we go away for a few weeks we have someone stop to feed him, but we miss him and I know he misses us, since when we return he is at our feet for days. Bernadine has so many neat cats and I have taken photos of most and have po

I better eat in as many of them as I can when Carol and I return for 3 weeks in April-May. Have to try and get the few license plates back I gave Andy a few years ago that are hanging in the rafters of the restaurant. Where is Le Pavilion located? It looks rather interesting and the menu looks good. We only stopped at Carousel two years ago for the first time. Probably my favorite stop on a h

I also check in here a few times a week. I'm hoping to be able to visit with Barbara on my next trip in April/March. Will be on the island for three weeks and hope to be able to see her garden and meet her gardener. I'll be in touch, Barbara. Larry

Thanks for all the great reports Norm. The Artisan Bakery has a very nice variety of pastries and sandwiches. Really is easier to get into that the bakery that was around the corner before it closed. How did you find out about shacks being torn down and replaced with concrete structures? Had read about it, but just assumed it wasn't going to happen since all the places seemed to have reb

Have been following all the turmoil on SXM. Hope everyone recovers as soon as possible. I am on the island of Maui and expect Ana to strike here. Our hotel just boarded up many of the windows in preparation. Hoping Ana shifts to the south so the islands can avoid the same that SXM just went through.

On our latest trip our flight was supposed to land at 1:30 PM, but because of bad weather at JFK we didn't make it until 11:00 PM. I couldn't use the WiFi at Baltimore so I called my daughter who emailed Leslie. He was waiting for us at the airport with our cat at 11:30 PM. Found hit sleeping on a bench in the taxi area, but he was quick to get us in our car and off to Orient area.

Just got back from 3 weeks in St. Martin and made a few visits to see Cheryl. She seems to be doing well and has just about everything on the menu that used to be on the menu when Andy was still alive. The Mussels Ala Andy are still as book as ever. Bikini Beach looks very nice. I didn't stop there since I don't spend much time on that section of Orient.

We often thought of bringing groceries and meats, but the Super Grande Marche seems to have just about everything that you would want. So much easier than having to pack food. Plus, most meals we enjoy eating out. Hey, you're on vacation!! Why do you want to cook?
