Back in the day, when I was a kid visiting SXM, my family's favorite restaurant was Captain Oliver's. I have very fond memories of my time with my family at the restaurant. Thanks to Captain Oliver for allowing me to have such great memories. Philippe, I am SO very sorry for your loss. May the wonderful memories you have of the Captain bring you comfort and peace during this dif

Thanks so much for the update, Leslie, I also heard from our neighbors who talked to their tenant. They said there wasn't "too much damage, high waves, as usual w/ hurricanes in our area, and some water under the door." Of course, they didn't say anything about us. But, I'm hoping (praying) that they would have if it was bad. As far as Fiona, from what I understa

Thanks all. Grandma lived a wonderful 102 1/2 years...and I was so lucky to have her in my life for so long. Ah, but she'll be terribly missed. She was a cute little bugger - anyone who knows me knows I'm not short.. but grandma was about 4'9" or so. So we were an odd pair! And, I'll surely miss her commentary on life - As one friend who never met her so perfectly p

Friends forever? No. We are all just sick individuals that have found kindred souls, that's all. LOL If y'all only knew... Nope, I have never met Kim. I have met her lovely mother, Pat, at a SSBB party we forced her to one Regatta. Of course, she just LOVED me. I think possibly more than she loves Kim. Kim and I chat pretty regularly. (We have LOTS to discuss lol) Mostly she

Sorry for being late in getting back. (I was catching up on some reading.... ) I don't know the name of the house. But, ah, oui, I was standing in the house on the top of Morne Rouge. My parents were thinking about trading in the beach shack for it. Pretty cool views. But, I remember thinking, huh? Uh, the ocean, dudes, the ocean.

While scanning old SXM pics I found this one from the cliffs of Beacon Hill 1987, overlooking Simpson Bay. Huh, looks an awful lot like that tower people were anaylyzing in B's old photo with those silly "boulders". Damn.

awww, geez, this is making me really want to scan all my old SXM photos. I even have a 35mm film from my parents SXM trip in the late 60's. My dad must have taken a plane ride over the island b/c there are some aerial shots on the film as I recall. I haven't watched it in many years but will have to get it back out again. Ok, I will start scanning some pics in the next week or s
