Ceck out the Sea Castle on Dawn Beach. We just returned from three weeks there. Private and plewnty of room for 4 couples.

Sandra, Check the L'Esperance Hotel. I personally have stayed there one and have friends that stay there every year, for the same reasons that you list.

Go to and check their St Maarten specials. Call them for a studio for $499/ wk. We and friend have used them and highly recommend their service.
