EU social welfare in St. Martin?

Hi,
as St. Martin (French side) is part of the EU; can EU citizens claim social welfare from the EU social fund?
I know in France EU citizens are eligible to claim state welfare.
I just wondered if the same applied in St. Martin?
Thank you for your replies. You help is much appreciated.
Regards, johnnyforeigner.

Thank you for your advice Philippe.
I am receiving unemployment benefit from the EU social fund, and can transfer that to any other EU country for up to 3 months while I seek work.
EU citizens have the right to claim from the social fund for up to 3 months in another EU country. Then you have to return to your country of origin in order to keep claiming social welfare from the EU social fund.
I was thinking I could come to St. Martin and seek work for 3 months (and transfer my EU social benefit).
It is a simple process for me. The problem is that I think it would take longer than 3 months to find work, in order to survive.
The situation in Ireland is really bad, I have been unemployed for 16 months, even though I have a bachelors degree, and a masters degree!
I think it is the case all over the EU with the current economic downturn.
I have seen many Polish and Slovakians leave Ireland now the economy is bust.
They all came here to work during the property boom years.
Is there a legal minimum wage in St. Martin?
