St Barts Info

My wife and I are going to be in SXM in January 2011. We wanted to spend a day over on St Barts. Is there anyone that can recommend a beach or area to go, if you have just 1 day on the island that is good to hang out on, and easy to get back to the airport for a return to St Maarten?
Thanks for any information

My husband and I flew over for the day 2 years ago and rented a car..the island isn't that big. we visited several beaches but landed at St. Jean which is right at the end of the runway. There were restaurants there and a very nice beach. Would have like to visit a few others but maybe on our next trip.

Dallas.....

We haven't been over to St B in a few years but if you're flying, take the early morning flight and you'll have plenty of time to rent a car at the airport and see a few of the beaches while navigating the whole island and still manage to squeeze in some shopping and time for a leisurely lunch.

St. Barts really needs to be seen at least once if you're able to.

Respectfully,

pat

Is there any islands you can take a ferry to from St. Maarten

What do you mean by some "day sailing" to saba? Is it different taking the ferry to saba then to the other two islands you mentioned?

Thanks

the ferry going to Anguilla and Saba are real small ferry... they run few time a day and are relatively fast motor boat. The sailing day trip to Saba is more an touristic excursion. Type of day charter on a catamaran, with food and drink included, it's more like a short cruise... but otherwise, I am correcting my first comment and I believe there are some ferry service from St Maarten to Saba

Kind Regards,
Philippe
