There is a post on TTOL that they have been up for 10 years, this board shows I have been a member since 2005? But wasnt then when the board changed? When did it officially start? I remember thats how I "met" barbara, trying to get Island updates after one of the storms, any idea which storm?

and I think you are right.. I think that Gert changed the board and re registered everyone in 2005.

okay, good, I'm not loosing it completely!! I knew it was because of a storm for updates! And yes, that is how we met, all from the board, you and Enzo would give great updates, Enzo was my MUllet Bay connection!! And I met Irina through here also, I think? though was the first time we actually met, was that loong night at Spinnakers, me, ken, you, Irina and Neil, when Neil very proudly served us up a bottle of "rum", and the only one blushing was Ken!! haha

I think the Yacht Club was still in containers back then!

I remember finding this site before any others and yes, it was just before the hurricane. I went under a different ID name at that time. I remember being attached to this site finding out anything I could about what was happening. We landed up going to the island only 2 weeks after the hurricane struck and we had the greatest time discovering new places since many vacationers had decided to go elsewhere, thus no traffic whatsoever. Although our resort had been pretty much destroyed, we found the Sapphire sufficient to call home and was happy to support those businesses that managed to open for business when they needed vacationers the most.

friends off of the island right after the storm.

Thanks for hte new factoid. And interesting to see how something started so generously by the skill of one very caring person developed into something so good for so many and lasted so long.
