"Real" Bread

Hi there happy and friendly people of SXM, and (happy & friendly) forummembers!

I have an odd question...no offense to anyone, is there a place where one can buy "real" Bread. I mean e.g. like german bread, not anything that is just white, soft or even a little sweet?

Thanks for your replies, I wish you all the best from germany,
yours Sascha

There are numerous bakeries on the Island. From Carl & Sons to more gourmet producers in Simson Bay across from the 24 hour diner and several in Marigot.

I think your best chance to find something close to the dark german bread would be on the French side, in one of the Bakeries in Marigot, maybe Sarafina on the waterfront... most of those akeries offer a large choice of home made bread, from white flour to all kind of grain and they are baked everyday.

Kind Regards,
Philippe

There is also a German restaurant on Dutch side called Bavaria.
You can check with them also.
