yes, pat, it was a lifetime ago when we first discovered sxm...A very different place and world today but still our favorite place in the sun, right? smiling smiley

We stayed at the old PLM several times and always enjoyed it. we where very sorry to see it close.I remember when we were ther Toney was the car rental manager and Germaine was the the head bell hop. They always treated me and my wife well. Funny how they always remembered usand many years later we ran into them at Maho on New Years Eve, and they still remmebered us.

Your right the island hjas changed tremendousy.

THANK YOU for the comments and especially PICTURES!!! Now I remember why we enjoyed our stay so much - what a beautiful setting the St Tropez (and Marigot) were.

I have lots more questions but won't trouble you now. I found LDub's blog thanks to another thread on this forum and will do some reading there as well as the other threads to get a feel for the "new" St Martin. THEN I'll trouble you. smiling smiley
