Earthquake today?

A friend just called (lives on the island) saying that a strong earthquake had just hit St. Maarten. Anyone with information regarding this, please post.

yes, we felt it. it was close and it was heavy
lasted only seconds.
I don't think there was any damage but then GEBE went out right after.. I don't know if that was related or not

It should be volcanic related and not tectonic as it was not deep at all, only 3KM.
After all we in a very Volcanic area, Statia, saba, former St. Maarten-St. Barth's(they were one island), plus a few active submmarine volcano
