Gary Taylor, a frequent visitor to St Maarten, has done something I have never done.
He took a bus ride from Mullet Bay to Bobby's Marina.
He made a very cool video of his trip.

Gary did a great job with this - it was so good that at the very end, I wanted to jump right off the bus and head into Chesterfield's for an island breakfast and watch the bay come alive.

No kidding Barbara... You never took a bus ride here???? I did it very often, maybe less now that I am in Oyster Pond, but in the past I did and it was always a very interesting and sometime funny moment... William did too... And he will always remember the first ride he had when he arrived on the island as a resident and not a tourist 12 years ago.... He was sat (squeezed..) between two big Ladies, and at a moment, while the bus was stopped at the light of Prince Bernahrd Bridge the radio started to play some ragamuffin... One of the kid aboard started to beat the rythme moving his head, quickly follwed by one of the lady next to him, quickly followed by the other lady on his otherside, quickly followed by the rest of the passengers, and then before he realised, the bodies started to beat the rythme too and the whole bus was shaking on a ragamuffin rythm... he arrived in Cupecoye, he was so exited and hilarious... he was still beating the rythm himself...LOL

that's funny
and that is sure the experience of riding a bus here. I actually have ridden buses here but not for a long time. and always only when I had to.
don't forget I was married to a man who had a car rental.. there was always a car available.
I hate waiting and you always have to wait for buses. and they make too many stops LOL

Wheels on the bus go up and down!! up and down!! up and down!!! The wheels on the bus go up and down, all through the town!!!!!

Well well well.. it won't be the same even though it could be great. But the thing is to go for the real island feeling in a local bus full of a melting pot of passengers...
