It's definitely the French side so I will guess that it is a view of the main road along the water in Grand Case, based on the mountain in the distance.

Definitly Front street looking westward, as you can see the top roof of the court house on the right, with the big flamboyant tree which was on the square in 1925 and you can notice also the dutch flag...

THINKING ALONG Front St too . Could that be the corner of the courthouse roof? If pics reversed looking from end of town near West Indian Tavern up the street towards the Great Bay end?

and the old flamboyant tree on the square on the left (and further down on the right in the street..) of your picture the same as this one on this picture from 1925!.....
