LBBH? = Little Bay Beach Hotel

Augie;

I am an agnostic dyslexic who questions if there really is a dog.

Anon, I stayed at Little Bay Beach Hotel until DIVI chased away the annual guests with TS sales.We stayed there from 78/79 thru 86/87 when DIVI purchased the hotel and started renovations.We weren't notified before arriving and many of complained about the construction going on.Myself and others refuse to stay at a hotel during construction.DIVI offered us a free week the following Feb but I wasn't interested.They drove us crazy trying to sell TS units while having lunch, dinner, or at the beach.I remember DIVI charged a couple we met $40,000.00 to purchase the last 2 wks of Feb.Most of the regular guests moved to different hotels. TS was still a very new concept on SXM in those DAYS.Plus DIVI fired the wonderful ladies that worked at the hotel and restaurant. They began buffet dinning instead of the usual table service for breakfast & dinner. LBBH was noted for great food, beach,and service in those DAYS. We were forced to move to LaHabitation & Esmeralda for the next 20+ yrs of vacations.We loved the beach/ocean front ground floor units. The Alhambra Casino was wonderful but DIVI closed it, too.I haven't been back to see how the complex turned out.

If I were forced to wear a suit or long pants in a tropical climate I would vacation elsewear.Being from Wisc the temp differential can be upto 100 degrees(In Feb).I wear long pants on the flight down and forget about them til March.

Then you would have to eat elsewhere and not in the hotel restaurant.We are talking about yrs ago before SXM was discovered and TS began. Most hotel guests paid for MAP or EP food plans. They ate just about every meal at the hotel.The island wasn't as casual as it is today.
