Everyone has their opinion of restaurants and how food & service should be.I doubt he will be upset because everyone can't love a place.Many will give a restaurant another try and many won't.Can't make everyone happy know matter who the mgr is.

Bob, you're correct! Sure, things are better when the 'boss' is around (well, most of the time) but even the head honcho is entitled to a vacation! We'll just have to get his schedule for the future! ><

What gets me is that I have never heard anyone say anything bad about that place until now....well maybe before he took over. I just find it ironic that he's out of town and now someone talks about how bad the food there is.....Bull-Dunky.....I just think someone wants to get his panties in a bunch...lol!

sOME people just like to get there jollies trashing others. Sounds like a serious case of thats going on. Nobodies gonna like everything and while the cats away can be applied in lots of diffrent situations. Sounds like this might be one if its even all they're crankin it up to be.

You know what, MelissaG, I was thinking the exact same thing.

We've never done the buffet there and in fact, only went back to Captain Olivers for the first time in about twenty years after hearing all the kudos going to the place under Philippe's management, this while we were on the island last month, but I have to say, we had a very good dinner and I couldn't complain about the evening if I wanted to. Which I don't!!

I have missed him! I always enjoy his posts, whether on here or on facebook. I know they are having a great vacation, and on return will be the voice of reason on the negative posts and whether or not there is even an issue.

For cripe sakes, if you have a problem at a restaurant why wouldn't you deal with it at the time on the spot? Let's see now...wait until you return to post a negative comment on a board that Philippe doesn't even frequent? Please...I think we must consider the source on this one.

We once were out to dinner with a couple, one of whom ordered twin lobster tails. She had eaten 1 and a half of them when the waitress asked how things were. The woman said they weren't fit to eat and wanted them replaced. The restaurant was accomodating, but I was embarassed to even be associated with this type of behavior. If it wasn't right, don't eat it in the first place!

I have to agree with Bob. You just can't make all of the people happy all of the time. We have had nothing but great dinners since Philippe has taken over (and he hasn't been there every time we were)!
