I need some tourist advice on snorkeling.

I have friends coming to the island next month for their first time visit.
They love to snorkel.
In your opinion, what is the best snorkel trip to take?
what is your favorite?
thanks!

"BEST" is always subjective. My best used to be Swaliga II but I havent seen much written lately. It Used to go out of the area behind Rick's. They went to three diffrent spots so your bound to have a good trip but it was a power boat and not a catammaran. If your looking for a sailing snorkle trip maybe Bluebeard if they still run or any of the boats to Prickly Pear.

someone mentioned to me Captain Alan out of Oyster Pond and the Garfield charter
does anyone know anything about either of them?
I know my friends would prefer a trip with a small group.

HI Barbara, We were there Jan/09. We did the 3 island snorkel tour with Captain Allan and Colleen, very nice people. First was a mud bath at Tintamare, then Pinel Island to snorkel, then Green Key for another snorkel. The boat is nice and we were about 13- people that fit comfortably. Approx $70.00/person and drinks and a very light snack were included. A tour I would recommend. Capatain Allan was very knowledgeable and courteous.

I have read another board and notice a day trip referred to...Tiko Tiko? or something like that? What exactly is that? Can't find any info on it, and perhaps that means I shouldn't! lol

From the other chat sites. It seems Creole Bay/Island ? is one of the best places in the area. I am heading there end of April & doing tons of research. I heard Pinel island is a nice beach etc, but not the best for snorkeling.

Creole Rock ! Post a request on www.traveltalkonline.com and ask the locals for the best spot on or near the island. You will get overwhelmed with the response.

The Scoo Bee To has great trips plus its located close to Creole Rock in Anse Marcel. They serve great lunch and supply all equiptment. We went on 2 of they're trips. One was to Anguilla and the other was St. Barths. The trips are about 8 hrs and plenty of time for snorkeling.Anse Marcel has a large roped off area away from boats, too.

the Swaliga still operates out of Chesterfields jn Pointe Blanche and hits 3 spots in Anguilla. The price per head is about $110,

We have never tried those mentioned above to compare to, but we have enjoyed the Rhino rides from Simpson Bay with a snorkle stop at Creole Rock.
