The best place I have found is in Grand Case right behind the lolos. There is more variety of colors and sizes there. Of course, some of it is so new that it's not really polished yet..we always throw those back so that they have time to age.

Happy hunting!

It's really best to leave sea glass and shells on the beaches since they help prevent beach erosion.

thanks for the information, but where are the "Lolos" on Grand Case...is it near where the outdoor barbecuing takes place?

Yes, it is. There's a dinghy pier there, and you can find a lot of glass around that pier.

Please leave the sea glass. It is more beautiful on the beach than on a shelf at home.

Whilst I totally agree with not taking shells from beaches, I'm less convinced about sea glass for reasons that I hope are thought-provoking & not too controversial! In another thread the lack of recycling facilities for glass has been mentioned. There are many artists who use sea glass in their work - are they not recycling glass?! At what point does the glass of a discarded Heineken bottle cease to be trash on the beach (bad) & become sea glass (good)?! It's a fine dividing line but, I think, an interesting question. In a similar vein, I brought back from Montserrat last weekend a piece of driftwood. It is obviously from a boat as there are still some traces of blue paint & a couple of rusty nails in it but with a lovely organic shape & feel. Should I have left it on the beach to disintegrate? Is there is a distinction between things on a beach that have been manmade & those that are natural? I welcome other's opinions...

Interesting points. When is garbage good? When it turns into sea glass. I think not.

Gee...every time I find glass on the beach I throw it in the garbage...so no one cuts their foot!!

interesting points... well taken,
I don't think there is any harm in picking up the the little jewels... I create beautiful pieces of jewlery from them & my customers love my creations...so
someone's discarded beer bottles or old head lights from cars... I think it's a great way to recycle....
