Norm - we walked down to Iguana before the Dingy DFock party the other evening. Nice spot! Had no idea it was even there.

We were a little concerned - sign said happy hour starts at 16:30. It was 17:00 and not a soul in sight

The Iguana Bar is in reality the Bar for the Hotel folks even though it is also open to all public, this is why it is pretty unknown for most of sxm visitors, and also why it is relatively quite even during begining of the Happy hours (so far), hotel guest are coming more around 6pm or so... We also use it for private parties, or get together event like this one. Even many resident have no idea it exist... ( we also have a small "private" beach on the property, facing St Barth, and nobody except our guests knows about it... )
My goal this year is to change that and make it a more popular and known place in Oyster Pond, thus the new Tapas menu, but of course everything takes time, specialy taking in consideration that the Tapas thing is in place since only few weeks and no real advertising campaign had been made for it.
On the other hand, even though I want to make it "a more popular place", I still would like to preserve the "out of the way/ best kept secret" type of spirit, I know it is not usually compatible with "more popular" but I want to make it a place where people feel comfortable to come and relax with a drink or a cocktail, enjoying the ocean breeze, the sounds of the wave breaking bellow the deck, and the view.

We will miss the party we arrive on the 12th. I was curious as to where the bar was located.Oyster Pond/Dawn Beach area has really changed over the last few yrs.I haven't spent much time exploring the area since my first visit during the late 70's.I remember when the Oyster Pond Hotel was in that location and not much else.
