French Side Taxe de Sejour

Following a question from Sandy Molloy, US Travel Agent Specialist in St Martin's destination, I want to confirm that the French side Collectivite Territoriale Governement voted in November a decrease of the Taxe de sejour to 4% instead of the original 5%. This taxe de Sejour which can be very costly overall, is being paid by everysingle visitor staying on the French side, in hotel or in a rental (villa, condo etc...) and it's based on the daily rate for the room or the rental.
So somehow it is good news, even if some may argue that 1% decrease is not much, but on a 200 Euros per night room it is a saving of 2 Euros (almost $3 per day per person). Based on the same rate calculation, a couple would save almost $90 on a two weeks stay...
