They should put the turkey on the jets engine and it would be ready when they land. With four engines they could do veggies, potatoes and stuffing.

I had the right to remain silent...but I didn't.

My son was about five (5) years old playing on Mullet Bay Beach just before Christmas. A tourist asked him how in the world Santa ever found him. Without even looking up, my son replies, 'He comes on LIAT unless they are booked up,then he will have to come on Winair. Any taxi driver can tell him where I live.'

I've had people ask if you can rent cars on SXM. I guess that's not a stupid questions because there are no car rentals on Bermuda.

Responding to Barbara's query about finding cabbage in the supermarkets......
I'm a real shopper and find items in SXM supermarkets that I'll never find in my area and beyond!! The supermarkets have some of the finest produce, cheeses, meats and wines I've ever seen. I bring home speciality items all the time!>grinning smiley<

I live in Paris and know Saint Martin quite well - maybe this question as already been asked on this Forum but I haven't seen it. I am elderly & drink a good deal of water during my day - in Marigot a bottle of mineral water seems to cost about 2€. Last year I was told firmly that as I wasn't young (sic) it would be very silly to drink tap water as it's just de-salted sea water. I'm coming back in january & would like to solve this problem once and for all. I shallbe saying at Nettlé Bay beach. Many thanks.

Traduction for the non French speaking:
"I live in St Martin since almost 20 years now, and except few problems many years ago (which didn't really last long..) I don't see why you were told such thing. I drink tap water everyday, and the fat of the matter is that desalinated water is even safer than other type of waters. So there is no reason to worry, and except if you do not like the taste of it, then you still have the solution of "mineral water" which doesn't cost 2 euro a bottle but one or 75 euro cents, depends where you buy it and which brand you choose."

Kind Regards,
Philippe

Ros
I am older too and I drink the tap water on both sides of the island and have never had a problem. I do not particularly like the taste of the tap water on the french side though..

Barbara, I agree with you about the taste of the water on the French Side it was not the best. But Paul and I did drink the tap water on both sides of the island. They were both better tasting than the water we have here in my part of Florida! I can't even get past the smell of the water here!

Ok, I recently read on another board the de-salinated water dissolves your bones and teeth-(which older females don't need), and that we need the minerals in bottled water.
So the #10 question is, "Is this true? Has anyone heard of this?"

I drink bottled water on the french side, but use tap water for ice & coffee.

Oh, and thank you Philippe, for the translation--I think I did pretty good translating it..it was a good little quiz.

It's because this type of water doesn't contain any calcium nore magnesium, but if you eat properly, it will not interfere with your health. You get other sources of calcium and magnesium than in desalinated water... I still have all my teeth and I am 43, I am drinking tap water on the French and Dutch side since almost 20 years... No really, also take in consideration that you are on short stay anyway on island so you won't have any side effects. I would be more concerned with water in the States regarding polution issues.

Kind Regards,
Philippe
