How sad, Barbara. Hopefully, it won't go through.

it probably will go through, annie, but the key I think is that it not get taken off the monument list and that the monument list get approved quickly.
That way the buyer will be restricted in what he can and cannot do as certain things will have to be preserved.

It's such a damn shame. That place is so fabulous.
it would have been a great spot for the museum, the zoo,and botanical gardens, and the government just doesn't give a crap.

I owe you an email..one coming up soon, I promise

The Daily Herald has picked up on the story now.
I hope the media continues to keep this in the public eye.

What a shame.
I went to a party there once back in the 80's.
What a beautiful setting!
Hopefully, that beauty and historical significance can be maintained.

Barbara -

That sounds like mumbo jumbo to me? Can someone interpret?

it is mumbo jumbo
government mumbo jumbo
mumbo jumbo means lack of action.
no proper communication
and possibly conflict of interest with the prospective buyer renting his business license from an island council member currently under investigation.
and said person would be the person to approve certain projects and plans for the businessman.
smells to me.

and then there is this
[www.thedailyherald.com]

and Emilio Wilson Estate..another one in trouble
[www.thedailyherald.com]

both properties are on the not yet finalized monument lsit and apparently both are in possible danger of being taken off the monument list.
If that happens then the owners can develop any way they want..
