Wendy,
I hear you... I specially don't like the last sentence of the article:
"
while a purported deal to sell the lease to a well-known local businessman is finalised."
It doesn't give a very attractive view to potential foreign investors, what ever the story is, to do business down here and invest.... I wonder to know who is this "well-know local businessman"!!! It seems like in any case if the owner want to find some fault at charge to the tenant or some sort of breach of contract it's always possible... specially when a "well-known bussinessman" with certainly a lot of clout (and money to squeeze under the table) is interested in the spot...
I don't know all the "how and why" but it seems that caravanserail is a "serial get ride of it" (LOL... just palying with the words..).
First Dolphin casino >>>> get out of there I want your spot to put Dune instead because we are friends with.... (oups! Dolphin owned the casino license and left with it...)
Second : Bamboo's Bernie...
Now SSBB...
Sounds like a patern doesn't it?
RED LIGHT already?
Hallo Hallo !!! Who want to invest at caravanserail?
The tax issue is another issue... If the company was bought with past due taxes, the new owner is responsible of them. He should have bought the company with (I don't recall the exact name..) a document delivered by the tax departement to the notary certifying that payments are up to date... If he didn't get that , then he was screewed. Or he is the one who cumulated NAF 1.6 million of unpaid taxes in 3 or 4 years? WOW... I knew that was a great business but...
Kind Regards,
Philippe
