Lion Hug

it's all over the news and I am sure many of you have seen it, but I am posting a link here in case you haven't.

If it doesn't make you cry, well.....

and here is a link to snopes.com which explains in more detail how and why this happened.

very interesting. I never knew that some people like George Adamson, who was the gentleman at the end of the video, always believed that lions had some mysterious telepathic communication.
How in the world did that lion show up at camp on the day his old friends arrived, after not being seen for months?
coincidence?
I wonder.

It made me cry too... How is it possible to do not!... Barbara as you know I grew up in Africa and I (with my parents..) raised Lions Cubs too. This video is very special for me as my mind litterally exploded with memories this morning when you email it too me... I went back 30 something years ago... Lions are very special animals... extremly smart and very loyal.
They play like cats. thye can be rough though and you always have to be the strongest, or at least give them the impression you are. You have to earn their respect by respecting their pride and Charactere, each one is so different.
But god... I loved them so much, and what an experience for a child...

Here below I was 11 y/o:

In this one I was 13 y/o with Elsa (yeah I know... not very original name for a lioness but it was the most famous one after Clarence and Doud Here above):

Kind Regards,
Philippe

Philippe, when you told me about your raising lion cubs, I so envied and still do envy your experience so much. the pictures are just fabulous.

Do you beleive the lions have special telepathic powers or communicating with people? Apparently George Adamson believed this.

I do beleive they've got an extra sense. They feel things around differently than we do... Already "cats" are very specials and have a six sense, imagine that power multiplicated by 50... Size wise. Lions are wild animals, they live and feel the nature and environement differently than other. Some day, if I can do it without being emotional, I will tell you about some experiences with them, and how very special and sensitives they are. Right now, just thinking about, again I am starting to have wet eyes...Like everytime I remember my past in Africa.

Kind Regards,
Philippe

Every time I watch it, my eyes tear up!!!! And so I showed it to Rick just now to see his reaction and even he got tears in his eyes!!!!!!! Now that in itself was amazing.

Thank you again Barbara for posting this wonderful video.
