The island of Jamaica police blotter: 675 persons have been murdered between Jan. 1 this year and May 16th. 4 to 5 people are killed each day...sad smiley

Thanks for the statistics Wendy, but isnt Jamaica a lot larger and more populated? Compare apples to apples....

St Martin/Sint Maarten...pop 120000....square miles 36

5.29 more people per square mile in SXM

COrrect Dan. More people per square mile on SXM, but more people on Jamaica. Higher population usually brings higher crime statistics.

Vin....I live beside Toronto....Roughly the same pop as Jamaica...and they only have approx 80 murders a year...they(Jamaica) have 1600!!!
Big Big difference!
