We stay in Simpson Bay area and brought our own poles and lures with us and fished off the rocks - we only caught little fish that we threw back in,,,including a tiny shark. We hope to do better this year, but plan on driving around the island with our poles....like anywhere, it's hit and miss. Just fun to do.
I think there's better fishing just north of Dawn Beach right on the French boarder, but be careful walking out where we were told to go...all alone leaving your car and stuff in your car. We didn't wade out .....too risky. But the locals there were showing off what they caught. Good luck.

I am doing the windjammer cruise the week of 6/9 and wanted to rent some fishing tackle for the week to take on the cruise, does anyone have any info? Not sure of all of the islands that we will visit but if anyone has any experience fishing on the windjammer please let me know.

i'm going to saint martin , im bringing a fly pole and like a bass/catfish pole. i'm planning to use a crab or shrimp fly. on the bass/catfish im planing to use a wait and a swivel and a hook the bait i'm planing to use will probably be shrimp or prawn anything i can snag from the cold bar at the restaurant, do you have any suggestion for fishing on the french side of the island. any bait i should use? any gear i should use? what type of lures i should use? any suggestions you have ?
