Restaurants

Looking for some restaurant ideas. Any you would reccomend? I want to stay away from Phillipsburg due to the lack of parking, very high rate of car break-ins, mugings, pickpockets and panhandlers.

There are so many to choose from.
My favorites:
Marigot: La Vie En Rose and La Petite Auberge des Isle
Maho: Bajatzu
Simpson Bay: Halsey's
Grande Case: Sunset Cafe at GCBC
If you are worried about Philipsburg late at night--plan a late lunch/ early dinner after some shopping. We like Chesterfields for the DUCK.

mikentara,

It was nice of you to so politely answer tiny's question. Unfortunately, I don't think tiny is really interested in restaurants, just looking to use this forum to bash Philipsburg and indirectly St Martin.

The "t" in tiny stands for "troll".

Thanks, mc
I guess that went right over my head.
We don't usually do P-burg at night because we stay in Marigot and hate driving over that mountain late at night.

The problem is that you are blind or tend to ignore the problems in Phillipsburg.
We have enjoyed many many meals in Grand Case and along the Cul de Sac. WE want to branch out to the Marigot area. Sorry not to agree with your take on Phillipsburg, go ahead and bury your head in the sand.

Right. One would need to have his head in the sand not to see through your initial post. If all you wanted were restaurant suggestions in Marigot, that's all you needed to ask.

While we prefer Marigot to P-burg, that's not to say that crime and other problems are less in Marigot. Both places have their share of trouble. And I would hesitate to walk around late at night in either town. We like the ambience of Marigot. There are so many great restaurants from local lolo food to fine dining. But, mostly, it is just more convenient for us.
