Does anybody knows when Westin hotel in Dawn Beach OPENING?

Normally the 15th of december 2006...

Supposedly December 13th. If it opens, it will be a nasty construction site.

Friends of mine have purchased there and are flying out on the tenth of December (to use frequent flier miles). They are staying somewhere else for three days (so they think) until the can occupy their their condo. Should be interesting!

Purchased? You can buy there? Thought it was a hotel.

They have condos as well as the hotel.

I don't think any of the big hotel developers build anything these days without the attached condo/timeshares, They pre-sell the condos and use the cash flow to help finance the total hotel/condo project.

Thanks Ed. I thought they were villas. Thought they were last on the list to be finished.

My friends bought a condo there.

Must be exciting to be going down to move into a new upscale place like that. Like the "new car smell", everything is brand new.

I saw L'Habitation when it first opened. A maid let me into one of the empty rooms to check it out, and the the whole property was shiny and new; really impressive.

True...I'll be curious to find out if their place was actually finished when they got there. From some of the pics I've seen posted on TTOL, it seems unlikely.

We just returned from seeing the construction here. The Dawn Beach area is one huge construction site. Even Princess Heights is being expanded across the street from the Westin. There are both time shares and hotel rooms at the Westin with the time shares being located closer to Mrs. B's.

The entire complex resembles a huge sprawlinig flat roofed warehouse. It consumes the entire valley and is the ugliest looking imitation of a hotel we have ever seen. The Westin must not have employed an architect to draw up the plans. You must see this thing to appreciate how bad it actually looks.

The sign at the entrance says that the Coral Beach Club is part of the Westin Corp.

According to the developer of Coral Beach Club, his family sold the property to the Westin Corp. to build their hotel (far south end of Dawn Beach) and contracted with Westin to manage the Coral Beach Club property he is building behind Ms. B's.
