thinking about a trip to sxm in aug. 07 / do the air fares tend to go up or down during the summer season ?/ looking @ fairs from cleveland in august the lowest i see is delta for 845./ i just booked from cleveland on delta for feb. 07 for 579. / just wondering if they will drop and if so when?

you never know when they are going to drop but i would wait at least until april or may to book they tend to go down after the season

When to buy the tix is a real tough question. Because of timeshare we're locked into certain dates so I usually buy as soon as the tix are available. Like 300 days or so out. I'm not going til spring and I just saw the price has gone up by about 250bucks from what I payed per ticket and the flight is pretty well booked up now. And there are still months to go until I go. I'm thinking there wont be any reductions with the flights full but I got such a good price I'm not griping but just happy I bought early. Of course we're on Saturday flights out of NY on the nonstops but thats the flights I wanted.

So long as you book directly with Delta, if the price goes down for your exact itinerary you should get a refund on the difference.

As already mentioned,a lot of the price is when you want to travel and the other is where you shop for the tickets.
Today you can get return tickets, Cleveland-SXM on Expedia for Aug 7 for $552.
