Jmasons,

If you're talking about the SXM departure fees, as of March '06 I believe all the majors, American, United, Delta, USAir, Continental, and most of the smaller ones as I recall, were all including the fees in the ticket purchase price.

I know for sure that US Airways includes it now, though they didn't used to.

US Airways does include the departure tax. Sounds like you got a good price on the tickets.

American includes the departure tax too. A few years back we barely got out of there but did end up scrounging enough CASH for the tax. this was before they included it in your airfare , which was very smart of them!!

Where is "bdl" we paid $450 from Oregon

yes but it's probably in your ticket price, if coming by air.

Yes, a departure is very common in many - if not all - airports. Often time the tax is included in the price of the ticket depending on the airline or tour company so you don't realise that you're paying it, but if it isn't, you pay it at the check-in counter or at a separate window/booth at the airport.

Check the Princess Juliana website for a list of the airlines that include it in your airfare, and those that make you pay it separately. The amount can also vary depending on whether your flight is a domestic (or regional) or an international one.
