Rare Restaurant

The owner of Rare is the same as the Temptation restaurant (and right next to it in the Atlantis Casino area).
We tried this place when we were there in June and let me tell you they have some of the best steaks I have tasted ANYWHERE and that includes Texas.
If you are on the Island and looking for a great steak place, a bit spendy but well worth it, then try Rare.
It will be a must whenever we end up back on the island.

So, are you from Texas? If so, what area? Any other pointers on St. Maarten? We'll be there Aug 6th-13th. Thanks!

I am not from Texas but I spent a summer in the Dallas/Forth Worth Area.

Other food suggestions are, Johnny B's under the Tree, great barbeque ribs!

Sapphire Restaurant was pretty good, not excellent but definitely a good one.

Pineapple Pete's: pretty good hamburgers, the main attraction there was that coconut cake thing they have. I split mine with my wife and we both wished we bought our own.

Zee Best Pastry, good place for breakfast.

L'Alabama another exquisite restaurant.

Again, I can't speak enough about Rare! It is a spendy restaurant but the food was out of this world!

Trip wise you need to take the Bluebeard Catamaran to Prickly Pear, fun trip, good food and awesome snorkeling.

Car rental I would advise Kenny's Car rental, Bruce will meet you at the airpot with the car, you sign the paperwork and off you go!

Hope that helps!

I don't think 84 bucks for a piece of meat is a beat spendy.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not?
That selection for $84 you are talking about (which my wife and I have ordered) is for 2 people. The rest of the prices are from $20 to $53 which comes pretty close to what we pay here in the USA, where beef is more accessible.

Best steak I have had...bar none.

All of the restaurants surrounding the casino in Cupecoy are excellent (Rare, Temptation, and La Gondola). In fact, La Gondola has, in our opinion, the best Italian food on the Island. Plus, none of them automatically add that annoying 15% "service" charge.

I agree, La Gondola is the best Italian food on the Island. And the owners are sooooo nice! We arrive on Saturday...CANT WAIT!!!
