I've had great experiences renting villas in Oyster Pond. Sunrise and Suzanne will fit the bill in terms of size. Sunrise is at www.sunriseestate.com. You can see Suzanne on www.remaxislandproperties.com. As not many owners individually advertise their villas, you may end up needing to book through an agent. This has the advantage of being able to use a credit card for a security deposit (not cash or check), and the ability to substitute another villa if there are any problems (like an owner deciding to use the villa themselves and refunding your deposit, mechanical problems with the house that make it unsuitable, etc.)

We've always rented thru Villa Leisure www.villaleisure.com

We typically rent in the Terres Basses area... and have rented Little Jazz Bird, BEAULIEU, and Serena multiple times with great success. Lovely properties... no problems ever, expensive during high season, but worth it, especially if the cost can be divided...

We are looking at renting a place for 3 weeks this November/December. Would like to be near a casino and beach. Any suggestions or recommendations? I was thinking about the Sapphire Club - have looked into it - but just read on another site all the problems people are having at that resort?

Try the Maho, La Plage or La Terrace.
Great area with Casino, night Clubs, Sunset Beach Bar and restaurants. Beach is average, but you'll want to rent a car anyway.

Tony,

Why wouldn't you want to use an agent. That's what they specialize in and get paid for! You have a lot more peace of mind when there is a local agent to contact with any problems then trying to get in touch with the owner who may not be on the island. Use their services, that is why people hire them!!!

Martinbound,

We've rented Serena three times over last several years... it will handle 6 couples very comfortably... our last stay was two years ago, and all was fine and up to snuff... I just looked at photos on various villa websites and all looks as it did when we were there... we had Fabulous Feast cater a dinner one evening -- awesome. The place is well equipped...like most villas in that area, there is a full-time caretaker that lives on the property... maid service each day... We usually walked the beach to the other end (public Baie Rouge beach area) where we had a blast -- great food and drinks there. The beach is beautiful in front of the villa, going the other diection, secluded... Getting to Marigot very easy. As it's on the French side we had a tendancy to stay on that side... furthest we got was Orient... Pool and sand gravity typically got the best of us though, as the villa itself felt like a small B&B...

Hope this helps...

Tonka,

I appreciate your feedback! I understand the villa has been renovated with new furniture in the media / living room and new mattresses & bedding. I've only seen the updates on select websites. We were looking into Fabulous Feasts but they told us they required a minimum of 5 meals. Is that true or were you able to have only 1 dinner? Is there any pool floats at the villa? Where do you recommend we shop for groceries? Did you call the US when you were there? What's the easiest and most economical way? Sorry for all the questions, but you should be an expert by now!

Again, I appreciate your feedback! We can't wait to get there!

LOL
