my first time to St Matin
Posted by: Lindy (---.dc.dc.cox.net)

I'll be in St Martin for the first time June 24 - July 1. I'll be staying in the Mullet Bay. I wanted to know if there was anything someone could suggest that I simply must see or do?

Lindy...I really think you are a little confused as to where you are staying. Mullet Bay is a beach and the Mullet Bay Hotel/Resort is no more. Are you sure you don't mean the Towers at Mullet Bay? As to what you simply must see or do that really depends upon your likes and dislikes.

Yes, it's the Towers. As for my tastes. I just wanted to know if there was festivals going on at that time, the most popular restaurant, or a natural or historical spot worth seeing?

Lindy...no festivals to my knowledge at that time. There are a lot of popular restaurants so that really depends upon what your tastes are. Some of our favorite restaurants are...Pineapple Pete's, Tutta Pasta, Le California, Le Auburge Gourmand, Gutside, just to name a few. And then Buccaneer Beach Bar for great hamburgs. For a natural spot go to Loterie Farm which is on the way to Pic Paradise.

Try the Butterfly Farm close to Orient Beach, A small, but nice zoo in Phillipsburg. Click on top for a good restaurents and reviews. Excellent but pricy ones in Gran Case on the French side but also alot of excellent ones on the dutch side. Rent a car....see the island....have a great time

go to the top of the hill in Marigot where the old Fort Louis is..not much tos ee but it's a great view up there.
there is a nice small musuem in Philipsburg in the Speetjens Arcade.
visit the Old House overlooking Orient Bay.
those are some historical things to do.

Barbara l,
That sounds like the perfect thing to do one day. Thanx to everyone. So far I've got a place for burgers, a nice little zoo, and a great view.

Okay. 2nd question.
What's the weather going to be like? Cuz the way I'm thinking is cool little island. I'm going to wear nothing but summer dresses, skirts, sandals, and flip flops. I am going to bring a pair of jeans and a pair of sneakers just in case. Is the humidity bad? It's my first vacation in 11 years and I just want to make sure that I'm prepared. (Let's face it. I am going to over pack)

Only a several minute drive from Mullett is Cupecoy. There is a casino there, surrounded by a number of excellent restaurants. La Gondola has, in our opinions, the best Italian food on the Island. Also, Temptation is top-notch. Plus neither add-on that annoying 15% tip, er service charge. Hope you enjoy the island and it's many charms. After 8 visits, we are eagerly awaiting our ninth.

It will be in the low 80s every day and the mid 70 at night. Take alot less clothes then you think you'll need. Mostly just your swimsuit (if you use one)

I've been to St. Martin several times and stayed at a small hotel on the French Side . I can't think of the name ( La Petit ?)but only a short distance from Marrigot. I'm looking for a small romantic villa or suite for 1 week in Dec. Anyone have any information for me? My plans include a trip to Anguilla and dinner at Blanchards.
