what is happening at dawn beach?

read some reviews about dawn beach construction. Is it still going on? I heard it was stopped. Hope so will be there 12/1 rented a villa called LeCliff how close to construction site is it. anyone know?

Dawn Beach going full steam ahead.
Hotel will be WESTIN not Marriott.

Got back about 2 weeks ago. Went to Dawn beach, and spoke to The woman that owns Ms Bs. She is fighting to stay on the beach, while just behind her, units are being built, and I mean right behind her!!! As she said!! One good hurricane, and they will suffer big time, but could not beleive the building, and the prices they will be asking for these units...
Dawn beach has a long way to go, they were still blasting rock that they need to remove, but I would think that no one would want to build close to the ocean after Louis, but this looks like trouble again... Love Dawn beach, and really not to happy with all the construction, especially so close to the water... But what can anyone do!!!

What a mess. Construction all over, dirt and noise. We didn't stay. Joan wasn't at Ms B's, only the beach attendant, no cook or waitress as they were not cooking on a Tuesday. He told us it's been slow. Buildings are starting to go up and they are literally up against her tent. The buildings are inches from her tent.

I'm not sure that really is going to be a Westin. On TTOL Neil retracted.

the buildings behind Ms B's is not where the Westin is. that is down the beach. There is another complex of condos going up right behind Ms. B's.

Linda, You can not see the construction site from the villa. Yes, it's true there is a lot of construction, but as said you can not see it from Le Cliff.

sxm insider, thanks for the info, will be there Friday, hate to spend that kinda $$$'s and not be able to enjoy it. anyone here stayed at the villas, what can I expect to find in the kitchen in the way of spices, oils, cooking supplies.

If i were you, I would stay in a Villa in the French lowlands. Why risk ruining your vacation by a dirty, noisy beach? We love the lowlands and the beaches are FABULOUS!!
We loved Dawn beach and went there everyday for the fun waves. It was was kids favorite beach on the island.
So sad to see it all torn up.
