Does anyone know the name of the jewelry store that is/was located next to the casino or registration area at the Pelican Resort? I have lost a beautiful ring I purchased there in 2001 and want to buy another one..but can't remember the name of the jeweler.

Splash Jewelers. They also have a store at the top of Front Street in Phillipsburg.

Their store at the Pelican is only open in the evenings so they can be reached during the day at 011 599 542 2256 or thru email at Splash@sintmaarten.net

I'm heading to St. Marteen next week and am planning to go to the jewelry store you mentioned because someone had recommended it. Did you feel good about your experience there?

I reciently purchased a wedding ring from Splash Jewelers in Ste. Maarten and have been having a devil of a time getting it. After purchasing the engagment ring in person while on the island I decided to order the wedding band we had picked out. So the following month I sent a check for the full purchase price to the address Splash Jewelers had given me in New York City. They acknowleged recieving the check and it has cleared my bank but no ring to date. It's been over a month now and other than e-mails expressing how sorry they are for the delay I have recieved nothing from them. I will be very carefull in any future dealings with this organization.

You should not worry, they are a great company and they will deliever. I bought from them in 2001 and on the ring I bought the diamond sits high and I have lost it twice now. They have replace it without question. I would buy from them in a heartbeat.

Just came back Monday night from St. Maarten.....miss it already! I have bought for SEVERAL years from Caribbean Gems on Front St. Happened to walk into Splash Jewelers and walked out with a gorgeous diamond necklace. No pressure. No hassles. No "get-your-husband-drunk-so-he'll-buy-you-the-diamond-necklace". We ended up just chatting about other things than jewelry. Nice people, nice store. I would buy (and plan to) from them again in a heartbeat!

Well, I must say that my apprehension about Splash Jewelers was misplaced. I did finally recieve the ring I ordered along with an explanation and an apology about the delay. They were good for their word and we ended up with a beautiful wedding band. I will be doing business with them again in the future.

I love Splash Jewlers....and would only buy from them....I have recommended them to many people and nobody has been disappointed. My favorite is Greg...who sold me my first piece of jewelry and all the rest.

I love the no hassels approach that they have (and in Phillipsburg) they sell alcohol at a very reasonable price. Another great reason to visit their new store in Phillipsburg.

I will be seeing them in less than 2 weeks!

I wouldn't recommend going there. I bought a ring and a stone fell out within a month. I got it fixed at a reputable jeweler in my area (I assumed I'd get the runaround from Splash) and less than a month later another stone fell out. When I contacted Splash, they told me I had to pay to send it to them and pay to have it fixed (I got the runaround, like I expected). They have NO customer service to back up their defective merchandise. Further, I didn't get a great price on the ring in the first place, like they claimed I was getting. So, I would have been better off buying in the States from a reputable dealer.

I would recommend Jay Best Jewelers, located at the end of front street closer to Bobby's Marina. He does have the best prices in my eyes, I been friends with him for years and love him. He is the kind of person that will open his heart and arms out to you. His son amit is also very nice kid, if only I was young again, his employees make you feel welcome too. (love ya yogish) Any problem with your jewelry, (no worries) he would be more than helpful to solve the problem, he has an 800 number from the states and you can speak to him anytime...He is also is on AOL instant message, so you can talk to him in person with any problems. My husband and I go too sxm at least twice a year, and always make sure to visit him and have a beer with him, even if I'm not buy any jewelry...

I have had repairs done on 2 items from Splash and did not pay anything for the repairs. I have bought from them for 10 years running and have never had a "problem" with the appraisals or satisfactory repairs. I can't believe otherwise.
