I know this doesn't directly relate to St Maarten/Martin, but I would like to share this interesting take on the recent events in Antigua from someone who runs eco-tours there...

Agreed. By chance I was in ANU between flights last Friday had lunch at The Sticky Wicket. The pitch there was looking as pristine & immaculate as ever - a marked contrast to the debacle that was unfolding down the road at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium! Definitely not a good week for cricket.

Currently watching to see if the West INdies can save this match against England.
3 wickets standing and 24 overs to go to draw the match ! Holding my breath !

Okay Bro !
If you are around we can have a cyberchat as the game goes along .
That's what we do on other Chat Boards.
And please don't beat-up too much on Strauss.
I know he is going to get hell manana from the English Media.
Cheers and Cricket is what is to us as Baseball to the Americans.

Are you not tempted to go for the $1 Liat special down island? I know I would be if I wasn't involved with that other "small" sporting matter coming up...the Heineken Regatta!

Actually they didn't mentioned St.Maarten ?

You're right, I guess Liat figures the demand wouldn't be that great. The British Press don't seem to have been too hard on Strauss, they were too busy being all of a flutter about Freddies' Fitness & thinking up cute headlines like "Sweaty Palms in Paradise"!

Good for him !
I think that he should have enforced the follow-on , and he waited too long to declare .503 runs was way too much for anybody to chase. Hence the West Indies game plan was to draw the match at all cost. The commentators even mentioned that Gayle probaraly deliberately dropped night watchman Anderson , simply inorder to kill time.

Do we need a separate cricket thread?
