IMO, its a shame crime is forcing us to change the way we used to enjoy the island.

i just returned from sxm for 3 weeks and had a very enjoyable time. i saw much more police presence and no violence. i am not saying there isnt any but the people that are trying to compare sxm with jamaica are crazy. there is no comparison. everything was beautiful as usual and the only complaint that i have is the traffic around philipsburg. it is horrible but i also remember the barbados traffic (and wrong side of road) the jamaica traffic, burmuda traffic, bahamas, antigua etc.

every place has crime. you just have to be careful. i even socialized at seamans club, chatite petiteau and definace haven with out any fear or harrasment.iwalked safely around maho never feeling uncomfortable however i did not go to philipsburg at night except one casino which was fine.

and excluding most of the places in grand case, what island can you go to and have a great great meal for under $20.00. sxm has many many places like that

Even though it's Christmas Eve, crime does not take a holiday... no matter where you are. New viewers to this site need to know what can happen on the island good or bad.... whether it's Christmas or any other day.

We live in a violent world and it's a part of our daily life---yesterday---today---& tomorrow.TODAY we celebrate the birth AND we all know what happened .....a violent ending to the inth degree. To the haters--" it's a shame" folks --- if you don't like what's happening on SXM---DON'T GO----BUT DON'T try to posion the minds of the rest of the people THAT DO GO--enjoy their vacation and accept it for what it is.

All right, I think I see where this one is going, there is not anything to say about that topic. Thanks to all for your contribution to it, and Merry christmas.

Kind Regards,
