Buying photographic gear

I plan on buying some lenses from Boolchands next month. I was wondering if they are the only place in town for high-end photographic equipment? I'm in the mood to haggle if I can find an alternative. If not, I'm saving a lot compared with Canadian prices anyway but, being a Scot, I'm always looking for the best deal...

Even if the price is the same (I m assuming that you are in the Hamilton,On region) your saving GST/PST and I am sure it's cheaper on the island. There are other shops on Front Street. Reasearch Canadian prices to give you an indication of the savings.

I had the right to remain silent...but I didn't.

Thanks, Richard. Yes, I live a bit to the south of Hamilton. I've checked the prices and even without the taxes, I'm saving quite a bit over Henry's prices. The thing is that Boolchands have to special order the items I want, so the other places on Front Street likely would have to as well. And as Boolchands is the only place I know by name...

Boolchands is not the only place in town but they are among the most reputable.

Hey!

What did you have in mind? There are other sources in SXM and on the net that may be less than Boolchand's. I quit them 2 years ago when they got less competitive on NIKON gear.

Boolchand's have fast internet access and will compare online prices instantly.

I have a source in Marigot who can order NIKON or CANON and remain competitive with B & H, Abe's oif Maine or Boolchand's.
